ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Welcome to the website of my online Russian language school!
I am Erika Avakova, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor, author and teacher of more than 20 online Russian language courses and Laureate of the XVIII International Pushkin Contest.
I live and work in Armenia. I teach at two universities: the Brusov State University and the Lomonosov Moscow State University (Yerevan Branch). Furthermore, I defended my PhD dissertation on the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language.
I have also conducted trainings, seminars and workshops for Russian language teachers of universities, schools and language centers in Armenia.
I always strive for self-development, improving my skills, mastering new technologies and sharing my experience and knowledge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long does a lesson last?
Each online lesson lasts 60 minutes. This is the optimal duration for effective online learning.
How is language proficiency determined?
The language proficiency level is determined by an automatically graded vocabulary and grammar test and an oral test during the free trial lesson.
When and how do I make a payment for a course?
After the free trial lesson groups are formed according to the participants’ levels, and the start date of the online course is set. Prior to the appointed day, a payment for one month (8 online lessons) is made. Payment is made by bank transfer (transfer to a bank account/card or Idram account).
Do you teach offline?
Offline lessons are only held on company premises as part of corporate Russian language courses in Yerevan and Abovyan.
How long does it take to communicate fluently in Russian?
There is no standard answer to this question. A number of factors may contribute to the achievement of the result, for example:
As per our course programs, each level includes 24-36 online lessons (plus daily feedback in chats). Some participants complete a level in just 24 online lessons. However, some students might require 36 online lessons to complete a level.
- the level you start at and the level you want to reach;
- the frequency and intensity you study with;
- your language learning abilities;
- how much time outside of class you spend studying Russian;
- what teaching methods your teacher uses, etc.
As per our course programs, each level includes 24-36 online lessons (plus daily feedback in chats). Some participants complete a level in just 24 online lessons. However, some students might require 36 online lessons to complete a level.
